A group of Uber drivers filed a lawsuit

claiming that the company wrongly classified them

as independent contractors.

An Uber driver hit a family at a San Francisco crosswalk,

killing a six-year-old girl.

The company pushed back against a lawsuit

filed by the family using an insurance loophole.

News outlets confirm that New York City based

Uber employees deliberately ordered and canceled

thousands of rides from Gett and Lyft

in order to mess with their competitors' operations.

In a GQ profile of CEO Travis Kalanick,

a reporter suggested that Uber's success

has enhanced his chances with women.

His response, Yeah, we call that Boob-er.

Large scale taxi strikes begin popping up in London,

Berlin, Paris, and Madrid.

Uber is publicly criticized for using surge pricing

during emergencies.

Forbes reported that Uber has a God view,

a GPS trick that can track any user's location

while they're on the go.

A Buzzfeed news reporter said she was tracked

on her way to a meeting with an Uber general manager.

The company eventually agreed to pay a $20,000 fine

after an investigation.

India's Delhi region banned Uber amid allegations

that an Uber driver raped a female passenger.

The #deleteUber hashtag goes viral

after the company continued service during a taxi strike,

protesting Donald Trump's immigration ban

at New York City's JFK Airport.

Google self-driving spinoff Waymo filed a lawsuit

claiming Uber boosted its self-driving program

by stealing its trade secrets.

Senior executive Amit Singhal left the company

after failing to disclose a sexual harassment allegation

filed against him at Google.

Bloomberg published an embarrassing tape

of Kalanick swearing at an Uber driver.

resulted in the firing of 20 employees.

Uber fired an executive who was accused

of illegally obtaining private medical records

of the alleged rape victim in India in 2014.

Uber's senior vice president of business Emil Michael

agreed to leave Uber.

The findings from a four-month long

independent investigation of Uber

done by former Attorney General Eric Holder are released.

It included recommendations to

limit Kalanick's company responsibilities,

appoint an independent chairman,

and create an oversight committee on the company board.
