Ten exciting, hands-on workshops have been announced for WIRED2015: Next Generation, our one-day event designed to inspire young minds. It will take place in London on 17 October, following on from our two-day flagship event WIRED2015.

Aiming to educate and motivate young people aged 12 to 18 years old with talks, workshops and hands-on product demonstrations, WIRED2015: Next Generation will bring together innovators from the worlds of technology, science, the arts and business.

It will feature an incredibly diverse range of inspirational speakers and will introduce young delegates to the trends that will affect their lives in the coming years.

The WIRED2015: Next Generation workshops will be running throughout the day, including six in the Next Generation Maker Space, powered by Fab Lab London.

The newly announced workshops include:

  • MakerClub -- How to make a 3D printed robot arm
  • Experimental Food Society presents: The Robin Collective -- How to cook with science
  • Science Museum -- How to train for working in Space
  • Thought for Food -- How to become a biohacker and help feed the future

There will be live music from 16-year-old singer-songwriter Billie Marten.

The one-day event will also set out to raise awareness of the need for stronger science, technology, engineering, arts and maths education in Britain today, and highlight issues that will affect our world in the years to come.
