Museum of London: How to Make a More Sustainable City

Young people are living in a time of drastic change, with major issues including increased pollution risks, overpopulation and a lack of housing. Focusing on the example of London, this workshop will challenge attendees to explore they can positively impact the city of the future. This workshop is part of the museum’s year long season of events City Now City Future.

Arckit: How to Design & Build Your Dream City

Imagine being able to instantly create your very own Dream City. Now you can, with Arckit Cityscape and Masterplan. The Arckit workshop will be a fun, fast-paced and freestyle building design event. Lots of Arckit building components and props will be available for users to begin to bring their architectural ideas to life in miniature, from neighbourhoods to skyscrapers, bridges to piazzas, schools to football stadiums. It's a hands-on event with a focus on creative play and an introduction to building forms, iconic architectural styles and urban design.

Extreme Fliers: How to Get Hands-On With a Micro Drone

The Micro Drone is small, lightweight and packed full of technology. In this workshop, you will have the chance to learn what goes into a drone and build one step-by-step. Participants will also get a close look at the world’s smallest gimbal drone, designed for aerial photography. (Please note, participants are not able to keep the micro drone after the session).

MakerClub: How to Make Your Own Invention Using Sensors

MakerClub’s mission is to turn the next generation into inventors and build a world-wide squad of creative thinkers, designers, problem solvers and entrepreneurs, ready to take on the world and remake it for the better. In this hands-on workshop, participants will experiment with sensors and see how they can be used to design and build useful inventions.

Raspberry F Pi: How to Code a Space Experiment

This workshop will show how participants can code a real science experiment to be run on an Astro Pi computer onboard the International Space Station (ISS). Visitors will learn to gather data about the environment in space by writing Python code for the Astro Pi or an online emulator. We will tell the story of Astro Pi so far, and explain how visitors can take part in the next phase of this exciting mission.

In this workshop, successful female founders will talk through how you can turn your great idea into a thriving business, with the aim of inspiring the next generation of young entrepreneurs. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own ideas and there will be lots of opportunity to ask questions and get advice on your own budding business plan.
