Our favorite source of nerdy gifts, ThinkGeek.com, is shutting down its website on July 2. You'll still be able to get "select" ThinkGeek stuff from parent company GameStop, but we suspect that things won't be as fun. The good news is that until it shuts down, you have the opportunity to pick up anything at ThinkGeek for 75 percent off with the code LIQUIFY applied at checkout. This is up from the 50 percent-off deal it's offered until now. To help you out, we've handpicked a few of our nerdy favorites, along with some other deals from around the web.
(Note: When you buy something using the retail links in our stories, we may earn a small affiliate commission. Read more about how this works.)
ThinkGeek stuff is going fast—our favorite Mario mug and Question Block Lamp are already out of stock. If you see something you want, don't delay. The amount of items in stock dwindles by the hour. Items listed here may already be sold out by the time you read.
- Twin Peaks Ceramic Pie Plate for $16 ($16 off): Channel your inner Dale Cooper's love of pie using this Twin Peaks pie plate. It's got the Double R Diner logo and Cooper's memorable line "This must be where pies go when they die."
- Binary Geek Knit Scarf for $10 ($10 off): Yes it's the middle of summer, but the programmer in your life will still appreciate this binary scarf (which spells "Geek" in binary) the next time it gets cold.
- Bob Ross's Happy Little Blanket for $17 ($17 off): Grab a warm and cozy piece of art from possibly the happiest artist to ever live. And remember, there are no mistakes, only happy accidents.
- Kindle Oasis Ebook Reader 8 GB for $200 ($50 off): The newly announced 2019 Kindle Oasis adds a warmer light, but the previous model is still a solid buy, especially now that it's a bit cheaper. Read more about it in our Best Kindle guide.
- Asus VivoBook S Laptop for $700 ($100 off): This is a good midrange laptop with an Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics card, 8 GB of RAM, and a 256-GB solid state drive. It's capable of some light gaming.
- Google Home Mini for $25 ($25 off): Google's tiny smart speaker is a great entry into the Google Assistant smart home, or as an add-on for those who've already dipped their toes in Google's ecosystem.
- Google Home for $69 ($60 Off): The Google Home speaker has been out a few years (our review), but it's still a good starter if you want to add Google Assistant to your home.
- Google Nest Hub for $79 ($70 off): We liked the Google Nest Hub when we reviewed it (formerly called the Google Home Hub), but it's a much better bargain at less than $100.
- Google Home Max for $249 ($150 off): This is one of our favorite smart speakers and comes WIRED recommended.
- Acer Swift 7 for $850 ($450 off): I just reviewed the brand-new version of the Acer Swift 7, and it's a great, highly portable machine. But this previous version is still a solid laptop, and it doesn't have the nose-cam issues of the new version.
- BioLite BaseCamp Stove for $139 ($60 off): This is our favorite electricity-generating wood stove for car camping. Add the Pizza Dome top ($59, regularly $69) and take your camp cooking to new heights.
- Coleman 100-Quart Wheeled Cooler for $50 ($30 off): This Coleman cooler will keep those tasty beverages cool for your 4th of July celebrations.
- Biolite PowerLight Bundle for $60 ($30 off): BioLite's compact rechargeable lighting system is perfect for lighting up your campsite while you set up that new tent.
- Helinox Beach Chair for $90 ($60 off): We highlighted the Helinox last week, but the price is still good and it'll make a great way to watch the fireworks this year.
- Chaco Outcross Kids Shoes for $26 ($28 off): If you want to get the kids out on the trail this summer, they're going to need some good hiking shoes. These Chacos fit the bill and have a semi-collapsible heel, which means they're easy to get on and off.
As always, a 1-year unlimited WIRED digital and print subscription is only $10. Subscribing directly supports the reviews and original reporting we do every day. We're biased, but we think it's a bargain!
