It may not feel like a very festive time, but if you're celebrating Passover or Easter this weekend, we hope you can find a way to enjoy time with family and friends, even if it's through a Zoom call.
And for (hopefully) most of us, another week of quarantine has come and gone. If you’re looking for things to upgrade in the home, we’ve got a few deals that might help, from soundbars to smart voice assistants.
If you buy something using the links in our stories, we may earn a small affiliate commission. Here’s how this works. You can also support our reporting and reviewing by purchasing a 1-year print + digital WIRED subscription for $5 (Discounted).
WIRED senior writer Adrienne So recently wrote about why everyone needs a soundbar. If you've also realized you need to upgrade your TV’s sound, you'll be happy to know that a few of our favorites are on sale.
Yamaha YAS-109 for $200 ($40 off): This soundbar has built-in subwoofers, which is perfect if you have a smaller apartment and want something that takes up little space.
Vizio TV Sound System With Dolby Atmos (SB36512-F6) for $200 ($50 off): A Dolby Atmos-enabled bar will really step up your sound game. It fires audio upward, expanding your TV's soundstage, which makes it immersive for movies and gamers who need to hear someone creeping up behind them.
Sony WF-1000XM3 for $189 ($40 off): We gave these earbuds a 9/10 because they sound excellent and their noise-canceling capabilities are so good you can tune out your entire stir-crazy house.
JBL Everest 110GA Wireless In-Ear Headphones for $20 ($50 off): These Bluetooth earbuds have built-in Google Assistant that you can summon with the push of a button, not to mention solid battery life (and it recharges quickly).
Check out our guides to the Best Smartwatches and Working From Home Gear for more options.
Apple Watch Series 5 GPS 40mm for $350 ($50 off): The newest in Apple's watch lineup, the Series 5 is, in our opinion, the best smartwatch money can buy.
Fossil Gen 5 Smartwatch for $216 ($79 off): If you‘re on Android or iOS and want to try a smartwatch to keep an eye on notifications, this is a good, affordable option.
Google Home for $49 ($80 off): The Google Home is a bit old now, but it’s powered by our favorite virtual assistant, the Google Assistant. You can use it to control smart home products like smart lights and plugs, or use it as a music speaker to blast your favorite tunes without pulling out your phone.
Logitech G305 Wireless Mouse for $52 ($8 off): It's not the biggest sale, but if you're in need of a mouse, we like this one because it feels nice, there’s no cord to fuss about with, it has a smooth scroll wheel, and the battery doesn’t need to be replaced too often.
Looking for new games for your Switch? See our roundup for our favorites. Plus, check out our guides to the Best Drones and Best Action Cameras for more.
Rocket League Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch for $18 ($12 off): We tend to see this on sale for $20, so this is a nice extra discount for this vehicular soccer game.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropic Freeze on Nintendo Switch for $40 ($20 off): You can't go wrong with some classic Donkey Kong action.
Insta360 Go for $179 ($21 off): This isn’t a dramatic drop in price, but it's one of the only sales we've seen on the Go. This action camera captures 30-second videos and has but one button. We also like Insta360's impressive video-editing features in its app.
DJI Mavic 2 Pro for $1,499 ($100 off): You're still shelling out a pretty penny for the Mavic 2 Pro, but if you've been contemplating buying a drone to fly about your backyard, this one has insanely good image quality and obstacle avoidance. A few other DJI products are on sale from retailer Moment this weekend as well.
Believe it or not, we will be able to go outside again. Outdoor brands are offering a lot of sales at the moment, so it’s a decent time to buy stuff you need even if you’ll have to wait to make use of these items.
Snow Peak apparel is 60 percent off: All Snow Peak apparel (excluding its new spring line) is 60 percent off this weekend. This brand isn't quite affordable usually, but its outdoor gear is highly regarded by WIRED staffers, like this Hunger Games-esque flexible insulated shroud that will leave you warm and comfortable.
Patagonia Nano Puff for $139 ($60 off): This jacket has a 100 percent recycled polyester shell with PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Eco that is made up of 55 percent recycled materials. Writer Adrienne So called it "the most useful jacket you will ever own" in her roundup of upcycled and recycled products. Most colors are 30 percent off, but a few are discounted by 50 percent.
Outerknown Evolution Pocket Swim Shorts for $34 ($34 off): Also included in the recycled gear roundup, these shorts are made from abandoned fishing nets and are treated with a PFC-free durable water repellent to dry instantly.
