The ten most Wired watches of BaselWorld

The annual watch-fest in Basel, Switzerland, brought a deluge of high-tech timepieces from the super accurate to the frankly ridiculous, with each brand using micromechanics to create tiny ticking objects of desire.

Competing luxury watchmakers pushed the limits of miniaturisation with movements that can measure time to 1,000th of a second (shown in the video above), display 24-hour analogue time and even function on the moon. Others used etched gold, platinum and cut jewels to lure potential customers.

Digital watches were in the minority, but Casio proved the technology still has places to go by showing the first Bluetooth watch and making its G-Shock line even tougher.
