No, I don't need a Porsche buggy for my baby, thanks

Sleek and compact design, a carbon fibre chassis and leather seat. No, I'm not talking about the latest sportscar -- I'm talking about a baby buggy.

Swedish designer Dawid Dawod has collaborated with none other than Porsche Design to create (but not yet make) the P'4911 -- which, says Born Rich, is aimed at "rich parents who commute in luxurious cars like Porsche" and want to "give their toddler a similarly elegant ride".

Dawod headed to the Porsche Design studio in Zell am Zee, Austria with his design -- where they tackled the all-important question of whether the buggy would fit in the boot of your average family car -- namely the Porsche 911 -- and the overhead locker of a plane (presumably a Lear 40).

This is also a buggy that dads will be happy to "drive", says Dawod: "It was desired that the product could erase our view of parenting. Why is it that in most cases only women take their children out on a trip to the park?"

As a mum, I have to disagree -- you'd be amazed how many dads will volunteer for walks (that is until you see the amount of female attention they enjoy in the park as they show off their progeny).

But back to the notion of a Porsche buggy and the ridiculousness thereof. Well, there is already a Ferrari buggy on the market for a mere £350. And, despite its badge, that's not even the big daddy of baby buggies -- the award for which goes to the Bugaboo Donkey, which costs a whopping £1,200 -- a sizeable chunk towards a Porsche 911.

Or maybe I'm just doing my child out of some serious cool points with the other toddlers at the park. But she'll thank me one day.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
