Ableton Push
This minimalist 64-pad MIDI controller allows you to create songs with relative ease. The velocity- and frequency-sensitive pads light up and change colour to guide you through the artistic process by highlighting, for example, which notes are in the scale you select. Ableton Live collects the sections created on the controller, ready to be assembled when you've finished experimenting.
Cost: From €499 (£413)
