We all drop the odd nut, bolt or washer when doing a spot of DIY. So why not transform your finger into a super neodymium-powered magnet to make your Sunday afternoon a bit easier?

1. Prepare your kit

You'll need a thin glove from which you are prepared to sacrifice a finger, a knife and some Super Glue. Then either buy a small neodymium magnet or salvage one from an old hard drive.

2. Insert the magnet Turn the free finger inside out. If the finger has a lining, cut a slit in it. Apply glue to the magnet and insert it into the slit in the glove. Allow it to dry then turn the finger right-side out. You now have the power of magnetism.
