As pledges raised through Kickstarter -- just one crowdfunding platform -- romp through the $1bn (£600,000,000) mark with more than 14 million supporters, it is now easier than ever to create something and bring it to market. So the need to evaluate quality has never been more important. Here at Wired, we see the best -- and the worst -- of industrial design. We know how important it is to choose products that you'll end up loving as well as using. That's why we gathered the magazine and web teams to compile our definitive list of Wired's must-haves. From washing machines to personal jet fighters, you'll find our own favourites in the gallery below. If you are going to choose one tablet keyboard, or pair of jeans, or home security sentry, or even a robotic chef, it had better be the best. -- Jeremy White, product editor, and the Wired team.
