Following on from the Call of Duty: Ghosts box art leak and speculation-fest, the game's mask-centric teaser trailer and official site have now launched online.
According to the accompanying notes, "*Call of Duty:
Ghosts* ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine".
While the trailer doesn't answer any gameplay questions whatsoever, we now know that the game will launch on 5 November, 2013 -- so very much in time for Christmas -- and that the official reveal will come as part of the Xbox console (Xbox 720, Durango, Xbox Vita, Xbox 360: Electric Boogaloo, whatever) announcement on 21 May. Also that the game is "anticipated to be rated mature". "There are those who wear masks to hide and those who wear masks to show us what they stand for, to inspire, to unite, to defy, to strike fear in the hearts of their enemies and hope in the hearts of their followers," according to the Call of Duty marketing and advertising department. "There are those who wear masks to protect themselves and there are those who wear masks to protect us all."
The Call of Duty PR team are also remaining tight-lipped as to the game's specifics, although a spokesperson did confirm to Wired.co.uk that, despite speculation, the Infinity Ward release will not be a mask-making sim.
