iOS 11 has landed. The update lets you place apps side by side, loop your live photos and turn on Do Not Disturb whilst driving.
The iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X will all ship with the new operating system, but it's also compatible with older devices. When the update is available a push notification will be sent to your phone. Can't wait? Head to the settings menu to manually check for the update.

With Drag and drop, you can move text, images and files from one app to another. All you need to do is use the usual select and copy option to pick up an item, then hold it over the app icon and release.
When you are typing with one hand, the keys will move closer to your thumb to make it easier. To enable QuickType, touch and hold the emoji or globe key and select one-handed typing.
The new Files app lets you search through your iPad, iCloud, Box or Dropbox files in the same place. The iOS dock also looks more like your Mac, and Split View lets you place two apps side by side.
Siri is about to be a lot more useful when you visit foreign countries. It can now translate US English into Mandarin, French, German, Italian or Spanish.
If the thought of talking out loud to Siri fills you with dread, you can now activate the Type to Siri feature within accessibility settings – just be sure to deactivate the respond via voice setting if you're trying to be discreet.
If you tell a friend you’re on your way, Siri can also suggest your estimated arrival time. Which is useful – if you're feeling honest...
You can now send and receive money through iMessage using Apple Pay and the credit or debit cards you have in your wallet. The money will go into your Apple Pay Cash card which you need to connect via Apple Wallet. The release has been delayed until autumn.
You can finally customise the Control Center, which you access by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, to include the settings that you use most. It's also been made bigger so music and volume controls can fit on one page, is a lot less clunky and annoying to reach, and the volume and brightness are much more fun to manoeuvre.
Like Spotify, with Apple Music on iOS 11 subscribers can now follow friends, see what they are listening to and play their playlists.

On iOS 11, you can add Bounce and Loop to your Live Photos. As the names suggest, Loop creates a looping video and Bounce rebounds the image once it's played out the action.
Apple Maps will (finally) be updated in autumn to include indoor maps of shopping centres and airports, including London Heathrow, so you can avoid looking at the real world and make a beeline for the nearest restaurant or bar. Maps will also tell you which lane you should be in before a turn while driving.
iOS 11 can sense when you're driving, according to the movement and whether you're connected to a car stereo. In the Do Not Disturb While Driving mode, you won't receive notifications and if someone messages you they will get an automatic reply saying you can't talk.
