Amazon's take on the traditional back to school sale is here, in the form of its nine-day 'End of Summer Sale', running from Thursday, August 22 to Friday, August 30.
Whether you're off to study workers' rights or surveillance capitalism, it's worth checking out which wares are being marked down for the occasion. Amazon's also keen to point out that the reductions are across categories such as TVs and speakers, too, it's not just mid-range laptops that will conk out mid-dissertation.
It's Prime Day 2023, so we've uncovered the top discounts. Check out the best Prime Day deals in the UK here.
Here's our pick of the genuinely good deals worth considering. We'll keep this guide updated throughout the run of the sale as new deals will be added daily. When quoting savings, we refer to the most recent price on Amazon, not the original RRP plus be aware, prices and discounts may change.
One more point to mention is the difference with last month's big Amazon sale. You don't need to have an Amazon Prime account to access the discounts this time; Prime members get Lightning Deals 30 minutes early, that's all.

What is it? Android Wear - OK, Wear OS - watches are very cheap these days but they are not nasty. The Huawei Watch 2 is still in our best smartwatches list, for its two-day battery life, GPS and NFC for payments. Plus the round OLED screen is lovely.
How much are you saving? With an original RRP of £280, this is technically half price but in truth, Amazon has been selling for around £169 for the past couple of months. That's still a decent £31 saving on an already discounted everyday sporty smartwatch.
Also worth considering, the Huawei Watch 2 Classic (£184) and Huawei Watch 2 4G, down to £166.

What is it? This is a 2019 LG TV that's already being discounted. The 65UM7510PLA is a 65-inch set with an Ultra HD LCD panel with active HDR, Alexa built-in (via the remote or smart speakers) and webOS running the show, a TV operating system that we're big fans of.
How much are you saving? This £799 price is a massive £501 – or 39 per cent – off the original retail price; it's also at least £100 off the prices you'll find at other retailers like John Lewis and Argos for this model right now.

What is it? One of our favourite gaming laptops – and in fact, the best gaming laptop for battery life in our testing – Razer's Blade 15 is discounted this week. It's the 8th gen Core i7 model with a 15.6in, 144Hz Full HD display, GTX 1070 graphics and a 512GB SSD for not much more than you'd usually pay for the lower specced 1060/256GB options.
How much are you saving? This is a good deal on an excellent machine. You're saving at least £200 off the most recent price on Amazon and £730 when you compare the End of Summer sale price with the official RRP for this spec. Well worth a look.

What is it? Ultimate Ears speakers are a fixture of Amazon's sales; we can guarantee almost nothing in 2019 with the same certainty we have concerning UE's never-failing presence come Prime Day and Black Friday.
But they're also excellent and that goes just as much for this Boom 2 Phantom Black Lite edition as the entries in our WIRED Recommends best Bluetooth speakers list. It's IPX7 waterproof with great sound, a 15 hour battery life and the ability to stereo or group pair with other Boom/Megaboom speakers.
How much are you saving? With an RRP of £119, it's just a £30 saving but when you're talking about an already affordable device, that makes a difference.

Garmin's Forerunner 235 is down to £160.26: The sports watch, originally £200 and selling elsewhere for around £179, has GPS, heart rate tracking, VO2 Max and 5 ATM waterproofing.
Get Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones for £259: This looks like a superb deal – 22 per cent off! that's down £71 from £330! – but in fact these very well-regarded, if slightly old, noise cancelling cans can be found for the same price or less from Bose direct or other retailers.
£100 off an iPhone 7 Plus (128GB): Sort of. Amazon is offering £80-£100 off a range of iPhone 6/6 Plus/7/7 Plus models versus Apple's pricing – it's on a par with the cheapest you can find elsewhere right now. So a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus in Gold is now down to £569.
£60 off Oral-B Pro 3 3000: Oral-B has run a few deals on its electric toothbrushes including this one which is down to £45. It's at least £5 cheaper than rival retailers.
£40 off a BenQ W2000 projector: This 1080p short throw projector from BenQ is down to £579, from a recent Amazon price of £620 for the 2000 lumens model.
LG 50UM7500PLA for £489: Not quite as good a deal as the 65-inch LG above, this 2019 50-inch TV deal is a £211 saving on the RRP, though it's also available for a similar price at John Lewis right now.
Get a Sony RX100 III for £455: Last year's fancy advanced 20.1MP compact camera from Sony has a high-quality CMOS sensor, electronic viewfinder and a F1.8 - F2.8 Zeiss lens. Here, £455 is a good, low price though it's on sale in a similar range elsewhere.
De'Longhi's Lattissima Touch down to £179: £100 off on this coffee machine; though it is down to the same price at John Lewis right now too.
