Tired of that fuzzy, blotchy picture from your laptop webcam? The Logitech Brio offers a substantial sound and video quality upgrade. It’s a 4K camera that can live stream at up to 1080p, 60 frames per second. A built-in clip lets it hang out at the top of your laptop’s screen. It’s one of our top WIRED Recommends webcam picks.
If you keep your beard fairly short, the Philips OneBlade is one of the quickest ways to keep it in check. It’s the closest you can get to a real electric razor, as it has a flat-bottom head that glides across your skin much like a multi-blade Gilette. This package includes two heads, typically worth £10-plus each, and a carry case. There are guides for longer hair too, but this trimmer excels at dealing with short hair, and creating super-sharp beard lines.
The MateBook 14 gets you a high res 2K display and the kind of specs that can handle heavy workloads, specifically an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD. The 15.9mm thick Windows 10 machine also has a big old battery and a fingerprint sensor. You're getting a lot of laptop for £700 here.
Sony’s latest flagship wireless earbuds build on the great pair that came before them. A big folly of the last generation, the XM3, was their chunky size. The XM4 still aren’t the smallest earbuds but they are not smaller and less unsightly. While the audio quality is rivalled by few competitors and the active noise cancellation is ace.
A major improvement over the standard AirPods in every conceivable way, these ubiquitous true wireless in-ears are genuinely great. Effective active noise cancellation and a snug earbud fit expels the outside world brilliantly. IPX4 water resistance means you can wear them for your rainy day (or simply sweaty) runs and the charging case provides excellent extra battery life.
We're still not bored of recommending this nifty little Bluetooth speaker. That £28 price is very familiar - it's gone down to this sweet spot for the past two or three Black Fridays and Prime Days. It's water resistant, lasts all day and sounds better and bigger than it has any right to.
They don't quite pip the Sony WF-1000-XM4s (above) for all-round likability but if it's active noise cancelling you're after, you'll be very, very pleased with these real-still-quite-new Bose QC wireless earbuds, which are currently quite a bit under £200 in the sales.
With more than half snipped off the price, now’s the perfect time to snap up this lightweight and dependable wired gaming headset. It supports pretty much any gaming platform and offers 7.1 surround sound and 50mm drivers.
After originally starting with just one, there’s now more Fire TV Stick options than you can shake a stick at. Amazon recently revealed the new Max entry, boosting its raw power. While an enhanced processor makes it quicker to jump around your favourite apps, one of the best features you can only get with this version of an Amazon Fire TV Stick is live view picture-in-picture. This feature lets you take a peek at your Amazon-compatible smart cameras right on your TV. [The regular Fire TV Stick 4K is also down to £25, though out of stock till December 6.]
An Echo with a screen just makes a whole ton of sense, with simple Alexa commands like wanting to know the weather, asking for a recipe or choosing a playlist being better served by a visual option. Like most Echo products at this time of year, it's also been massively reduced for Black Friday.
The dazzlingly powerful M1 chip turns Apple’s slimmest laptop into a beast. Not only do you get the portability that has made the Air a perennial favourite, but the processing grunt to handle the sort of demanding tasks – video encoding, music production – that would have been beyond previous generations’ capabilities. And thanks to this Black Friday deal it’s more affordable than ever. Little wonder we call the MacBook Air (M1) the overall best laptop in our WIRED Recommends guide.
Good quality and stylish headphones don’t have to cost a bomb. And, while Sony offers great headphones that do take a chunk out of your wallet, these cut price cans are a solid value-for-money option. Along with strong battery life, you get 30mm drivers, noise cancellation and voice assistant compatibility.
The OnePlus 9 Pro saw the company try and sell its camera capabilities to high heaven. It pretty much missed the mark. But, thankfully, the camera was still decent and the rest of the phone offers up typical OnePlus cutting-edge specs. That’s from a gorgeous AMOLED display and speedy 120Hz refresh rate to top-notch performance from the Snapdragon 888.
The discount might not seem particularly significant, but this is a smartphone that was already worth getting at its original £269 price. We wax lyrical about it in our in-depth review, calling it no less than the “best budget phone we’ve ever tested”, but the main points you need to know are that it has the best screen and camera in its price range, as well as some surprisingly beefy stereo speakers and a huge battery. Put simply, this is a budget handset where most of the usual compromises don’t apply.
Garmin is a top pick if you’ve looking for a true outdoor smartwatch. This watch isn’t just about tracking the odd run or gym workout, it's a rugged device made for adventurers. The Instinct is able to track a wide-range of sports and give you key readings. In its basic smartwatch mode, you’ll also get a stunning 14 days of battery life from this Garmin.
Yes, even at this reduced price it still represents a hefty financial outlay for a gaming keyboard, but this isn’t just any old QWERTY box with a few LEDs stuffed inside. The Corsair K100 RGB is currently WIRED’s top-rated gaming keyboard and it’s a robust and feature-packed model with smooth opto-mechanical keys that feel fantastic to use. Its RGB lighting makes it look the part, but there’s plenty of substance here too – and it’s comfortable enough for long sessions.
Getting hair out of your vacuum, human or pet, is undoubtedly one of the most boring chore-related hassles you have to deal with when adulting. Along with doing a great job as a budget vacuum cleaner, this Shark is specifically designed to remove that oh-so-annoying hair from the brush roll and keep you cleaning.
It’s now well over a year old and has been supplanted by a new model, but the Apple Watch Series 6 remains a really solid smartwatch choice—particularly at this low price (the lowest we’ve seen it drop yet, in fact). The optical heart rate monitor and onboard GPS tracking make it a great watch for workout tracking, the S6 chip feels fast and the battery life feels… acceptable. We think this Project Red model is the best-looking of the bunch, too. The only potential downside? You need to own an iPhone too.
This whisky gift pack includes a 70cl bottle of 10-year-aged single malt plus a couple of cute little Jura-branded glasses for less than the normal cost of the bottle itself. We had a scan online and found the whisky sold solo for around £35. This will make a much better Christmas present, or just a way to get through these increasingly perilous weeks in the run-up to 2022. Slàinte mhath.
WIRED’s top-rated action camera gets a rare discount here (although it dipped below £400 on Amazon for Black Friday and has now slightly bounced back up). With 23MP stills, video resolution up to 5.3K/60p or 4K/120p, screens on both the front and back and superb HyperSmooth 4.0 image stabilisation, the Hero10 Black is the perfect tool for documenting your outdoors adventures, whether you’re live vlogging a city break or careening down a mountain on a bike.
An air fryer arguably has more in common with an oven than a deep fat fryer. It requires just a smidge of oil, but the hot air that circulates around inside gives it the crisper character of a fryer. This is one of Tefal’s larger models, with room for up to 1.7kg of food and two cooking layers so you can cook your proteins and chips in separate compartments.
Western Digital was one of the first out of the gates when Sony announced it’d finally be releasing its update to support additional internal SSDs in the PS5. At £120, these drives aren’t particularly cheap but its a solid discount on a great upgrade to your PS5, especially if you’re already pushing up against that annoying maximum storage.
It’s no surprise to see Echo speakers being given a sizeable discount on Black Friday, but this package of two (albeit previous generation) Echo Dot models with a smart plug thrown in is pretty nifty for the price, particularly if you’re looking for a simple smart home starter pack. The Echo Dot speakers can be paired for better sound performance or placed in two different rooms, while anything connected via the smart plug can be switched off and on via Alexa voice controls or your smartphone.
If you’re an Android phone user looking for a smartwatch for fitness tracking, this is the best around. As we say in our WIRED Recommends guide, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is great at keeping you moving regularly throughout the day and at recognising when you’re doing an activity. It runs on Google’s Wear OS 3 rather than the Tizen platform used by previous Samsung smartwatches, which means better access to apps too.
Think having a robot spruce up your home has to be expensive? Think again. We already recommended the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C as a solid budget automated vacuum cleaner in our WIRED Recommends guide, and it’s been made even more affordable for Black Friday 2021. This is a slimline model that great at getting under furniture, and its Wi-Fi connectivity means it can be controlled through Alexa and Google Assistant. We also spotted the Ecovacs Robot Vacuum OZMO920 which is £130 off, down to £269 this weekend. Worth a look.
This full-frame mirrorless camera is a WIRED favourite, scoring a spot in our mirrorless camera guide as the best hybrid (i.e. adept with both photography and video capture) model currently available. Its video specs are impeccable for a camera with such a compact body, with professional-friendly options like a V-Log colour profile and compatibility with anamorphic lenses as well as an articulated screen and dual memory card slots. This package comes with not only the camera body but two lenses – a 20-60mm zoom and a 50mm f/1.8 prime – so you can start your movie-making career straight away.
