WIRED Innovation Fellowships welcome 2015 applications

WIRED Innovation Fellowship 2015

At WIRED2014 12 inaugural WIRED Innovation Fellows were welcomed to the stage. Each gave a talk describing their significant impact on the world in their respected fields. We will continue this celebration of forward-thinking innovators by expanding the 2015 WIRED Innovation Fellowship programme to include two tiers made up of 14 Fellows, including three Space/WIRED Creative Fellows. Here's everything you need to know about how to apply.

What are the WIRED Innovation Fellowships? Inspired by successful fellows' programmes at events such as TED, PopTech and INK, we are leveraging WIRED's network and WIRED's resources to promote the work of emerging talents in our community. In 2015, there will be 14 WIRED Innovation Fellows, who will gain free and full access to all our events; the opportunity to speak on our conference stages and network with other Innovation Fellows and conference speakers; coverage in our digital and print publications; and further support and mentorship that we and our partners can offer. As well as speaking at our annual flagship event, Fellows will also have the opportunity to attend other WIRED events, such as WIRED Health on April 2015 and WIRED Money on July 2015. Further events will be announced soon.

Who can apply for a WIRED Innovation Fellowship? The WIRED Innovation Fellowships are open to any individual working in fields normally covered by WIRED who, in the editorial team's opinion, has the potential to make a significant impact on the world. The deadline for applications will be Tuesday, 31 March 2015. We are looking for emerging innovators in science, technology, design, culture, business, the arts -- and other fields covered by the magazine -- who both excite us in their fresh and energetic approach, and who have already achieved a proven track record of early success. We do not care how old you are or where you are from; we expect Innovation Fellows to be drawn from a number of countries and a range of ages. Nor will we make decisions based on your personal background, ethnicity or gender.

We simply want to identify individuals whose work makes our editors excited, and whose stories we are compelled to bring to a wider audience. WIRED Innovation Fellowships will be awarded at the sole discretion of the WIRED editor, in consultation with the wider editorial team.

How do I apply for a WIRED Innovation Fellowship? To apply to be a WIRED Innovation Fellow, you need to send all of the following to editorial@wired.co.uk, with "Innovation Fellowships 2015" in the subject line, by Tuesday, 31 March 2015: - Your name, full street address, email address, phone contact, and details of your current work.

PLUS - Your biography, in up to 500 words.

Your explanation can be up to 1,000 words of text, plus any supporting photographs, videos, audio or other documentary material.

What is The Space/WIRED Creative Fellowship Programme? As part of the Innovation Fellowships, we've also created a new category to identify three emerging digital artists with exceptional abilities. The deadline for applications will be Sunday, 1 March 2015. The Space/WIRED Creative Fellowship Programme -- in collaboration with the digital arts platform The Space -- is open to anyone in the world who has inspiration for a game-changing work of art which will be published on The Space and WIRED. The three Fellows chosen will each receive £30,000, and there will be an additional £10,000 budget for training and mentorship working towards their proposed art projects as well as a dedicated producer who will support them through the creative process.
