In focus: The Chinese library built from glass and 40,000 sticks

The Liyuan Library, Beijing, was designed by Li Xiaodong, Tsinghua University's professor of architecture, and its exterior shell consists of toughened glass walls that have been covered with 40,000 uniform-length sticks, which have all been reclaimed from the local area.
