Yes, Black Friday is finally here, and of course this means thousands of deals - some genuine, many not so much - are at your fingertips. But a word of warning: £120 off a bad product doesn't make it better, it only makes it cheaper.

Here at WIRED we’ve tried to find you the Amazon Black Friday deals that are genuinely worth your time. Some represent a significant saving, others are a decent amount off an already keenly priced offering.

Regardless, what you will find listed below are all products we know are of value because we've either reviewed and rated them in our WIRED Recommends guides, or bought them ourselves.

Cyber Monday has arrived and discounts on a wide range of tech and gadgetry are now live. The WIRED team has uncovered the top deals around right now. Here’s the best Cyber Monday deals

Aside from already making the cut in our best wireless earbuds selection, to confirm matters further we pitted the Sony WF-1000XM3 against the Pixel Buds, Huawei FreeBuds Pro and Samsung Galaxy Buds. Which sounded the best? These did, by a country mile. A good fit and active noise-cancelling combine with hard-hitting but controlled bass, detailed midrange and crisp top frequencies. You simply won’t find better for £150.

Another of our top recommendations for earbuds is also on sale. With the AirPods Pro, Apple finally got its earphones just about spot on. Better sound, active noise cancellation and, perhaps most importantly, a much, much better design that is still to be bettered by competitors. A word of warning here: AirPods Pro deals usually sell out during sale events, so snap these up while you can. Don't need ANC? AirPods 2 are down to £125, or £157 with the wireless charging case.

Most of the multi-room speakers from Sonos grace our WIRED Recommends guides in one stripe or another, so we were hoping the brand would make a showing this Black Friday - and, boy, have they. The Sonos One (gen 2) is down to just £159 as a perfect starter speaker complete with voice-assistant smarts. There’s a hefty £100 off the Sonos Beam, which is one of the easiest-to-recommend soundbars around - and our current top pick. And finally Sonos’s superlative portable outdoor speaker, the Move, also gets £100 off - down to £299 - to make it a no-brainer for inevitable outdoor parties come spring.

We loved the Series 5 Apple Watch. Practically everything that was every wrong with the wearable had been sorted and to top it all ECG sensing was thrown in, too. Now, it may have been usurped by the Series 6, but unless you really want blood oxygen measurements then this is till your best bet for a smartwatch, especially as this discounted option is the superior 40mm aluminium case. Want the lowest price? If you go for a 'renewed' model (refurbished, like new), this 38mm Space Grey Series 3 is down to just £152.

Putting it plainly, if you want to get a TV right now, this is the one you should get. Considering how many televisions are out there, this piece of sage advice alone is gold. Not only does the LG 65GX offer stonking picture quality, it has a chic design to match. And unlike so many other sets these days, it even sounds good, with Dolby Atmos on board. The clincher is this OLED’s webOS is still our favourite smart TV system to use.

The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite is quite the package. A tidy design, more than capable cameras and a large, quality display combine to make an enticing mobile. It is these types of phones that embarrass the high-end and flagship market, as after a while you’ll find it hard to tell the difference. What’s more, with 5G on board, it will be a long time before this handset will need replacing, and with £30 off an already rock-bottom price point, we have no reservations recommending this phone. Also highly recommended is Xiaomi's Redmi Note 9 Pro, which is reduced by £90 to £159 for Black Friday.

This is where Black Friday comes into its own. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is so new it only came out half a year after the original S20 range yet here you get most of the cream (including the better Snapdragon 865 processor for less). What else? A 3x zoom, 120Hz OLED screen and IP68 water resistance. We can hear you: “there must be a downside”. Yes: a plastic back, but who cares if you’re going to use a case?

It should come as no surprise that we would recommend the Ring Video Doorbell as a good smart home buy. Even despite the reservations some might understandably have when it comes to Amazon-controlled devices in and around the home, the Ring's connected butler skills are hard not to be seduced by. This latest version has Full HD video with improved motion detection and night vision.

We’ve named Garmin’s Forerunner 45 as our top running watch for beginners in our best running watch guide, and with good reason. You get no apps or payment tech, but as we’re talking about a running watch here that shouldn’t concern beginners (or core users). Why? Because this makes it a cinch to use. Plus with 13 hours of GPS battery life, Garmin Coach support and music playback, there’s little to complain about here. The clincher? A price drop of £40 sees this fitness wearable go £1 lower than on Prime Day.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 is one in the eye for the Apple obsessives who think Microsoft can’t do sleek laptops. The thin aluminium body means you get a build that is as strong as it is stylish. Inside you get the power of an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD. But this is not the best part. The Surface Laptop 3’s secret weapon is one of the best laptop keyboards on the market. It is a joy to work on and a great buy at £779.

Bose may have been having to fend off a few competitors to the noise-cancelling crown in the last few years, but they are still in the very top tier when it comes to this tech. This is what makes these true wireless earphones so compelling, even when compared with Sony’s excellent WF-1000XM3s (also in this list). You may consider £25 off not much of a discount here, but this is a bonafide new pair of high-end earphones, only available since September, so we’re happy and you should be too.

Samsung created the Galaxy Tab S7 to be an iPad alternative. And as such the key was to try and better the offering. Case in point: you get a stylus included here, unlike with Apple’s alternative. Samsung decided to opt for an LCD screen here, but the 120Hz display, which also allows for incredible 9ms response times for the S-Pen, way outclasses the iPad. Want OLED? Go for the last-gen Galaxy Tab S6 (£499) instead. But remember, the Tab S7 only went on sale end of August. Despite the drop in price, this is still new. Bargain.
