Economics is a notoriously complex and jargon-riddled business. Now, the Earth's vast web of economic networks has been reimagined with a psychedelic twist: through 3D "confetti".
The Globe of Economic Complexity is a detailed map that allows you to visualise $15 trillion of world trade, with each colourful dot representing $100 million of exported products. By navigating the map, you can zoom in on any given country to view their range of exports, volumes and the links between them.
Interactive graphs and bar charts also help to make the worldwide movement of products easier to grasp -- and best of all, you won't need an economics degree to get your head around it.
It's created by Owen Cornec, a data visualisation fellow at Harvard University, who was behind WikiGalaxy: a browser enabling people to view articles as 3D galaxies.
