Google Pixel Launch Live Blog: All the Latest on New Phones, Watches, and More

I feel like, as journalists, we are all going to have thoughts on “Research with Gemini.” This is coming to Gemini Advanced users later this year, and will create a Google Doc worth of information based on a query you make.

This is the first major Google product launch since the Android and hardware teams were all brought together under Osterloh. This is part of the company's integrated, full stack approach to building these products. (It's also the first Google event since a federal judge determined that the company violated US antitrust law and monopolized search through illegal deals.)

Rick shows us Project Astra adding its computer vision capabilities to Gemini.

Which pair of iconic sunglasses will Google work with? Celine cat-eyes? Goodrs? Pit Vipers???

“We have a lot more coming in the next few months,” says Rick Osterloh.

He's alluding to Project Astra, teased at Google I/O, which will soon be baked into Gemini Live, so you can point your camera and ask Gemini about what it's seeing.

Almost like this is designed for a pair of sunglasses!
