(As the wise creature once said, “Size matters not.”) Slightly over four inches tall, DJI’s three-axis camera gimbal captures 12-megapixel still images and 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. Its new FaceTrack feature enables the on-camera device to identify a human face and lock it in frame. It costs $349 and ships next month. There’s just one catch: Waterproof, it is not. The iPhone Taps Into Google Fi (With a Catch)
Since it launched in 2015, Google’s Project Fi—an alternative to mainstream carriers, like Verizon and AT&T—has quietly been one of the best deals in tech. At first, it was only available for Nexus and Pixel phones. Now, Google Fi will begin accepting most recent Android smartphones and iPhones running iOS 11 or higher. Google Fi is simple and affordable. If you’re thinking of making the switch, there may be some hiccups—namely, iOS compatibility is still in beta, so some secondary features may be missing. L’Oréal’s New Clip-on Sensor Tracks Your Exposure to UV Rays
L’Oreal brand La Roche-Posay released a tiny, clip-on sensor that measures your exposure to UV radiation, a form of radiation that’s a known cause of skin cancer. My Skin Track UV uses a combo of passive electronic components and near-field communication (read: no battery, no Bluetooth) to track UV photons and send notifications when your exposure levels are high.
