5 YouTube Gaming Channels That Haven't Gone Full PewDiePie (Yet)

The world of videogame-related YouTube content can be a minefield—so we've got some family-friendly (or at least not wildly problematic) suggestions.

The people who play videogames on YouTube have gotten a bad rap lately, and not without good reason. PewDiePie finds himself embroiled in controversy over his anti-semitic commentary; YouTuber JonTron offered what you might call interesting views on immigration on immigration; and Colin Moriarty recently left the Kinda Funny team after catching heat for a regressive joke about International Women's Day.

From the outside, this makes the entire YouTube landscape look more than a little toxic. And it can be. But what do you do if you enjoy gaming-based entertainment of the kind these YouTubers offer? And what do you do if your kid does? You want some quality Let's Plays, but you don't want your 12-year-old looking up to someone prone to spouting off Richard Spencer talking points. (If you do, fair warning: this might not be the list for you.)

Allow us to present some family-friendly choices. These people may use profanity from time to time—this is videogame YouTube land, after all—but they won't send slurs blasting through your headphones.
