Michiaki Matsushima

Michiaki Matsushima assumed his current position at WIRED Japan in 2018. Previously, he worked as editor in chief of the academic books editorial department at NHK Publishing and served as the director of the special exhibition “2121 Futures In-Sight” at the 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT museum in Tokyo. He is a Moonshot Ambassador for the Cabinet Office of Japan and also works as a translator, translating, among other texts, James Lovelock's Novacene into Japanese.

Originally from Tokyo, Matsushima has lived in Tamagawa Denenchofu, Sendagaya, Sangenjaya, Kagurazaka, Shirokanedai, and Takanawa. Today he lives in Kamakura with his family, one semi-stray cat, and two chickens.
