This year marks the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, so Mondo—the Texas-based art gallery and print shop—knew it had to go big, or leave Austin. So they rolled out one of their biggest gallery shows yet during South by Southwest.

Specifically, Mondo highlighted work from artist Mike Mitchell, who has been producing a series of Star Wars character portraits since February 2016. “We always knew that for South by [Southwest] 2017 we wanted to have a gallery show to culminate in all the collective work that Mike has put in to this entire series,” says Mondo’s creative director Eric Garza, “and just be able to stand in the center of a room and look at everything that he’s done over the past year.”

In fact, a lot of people wanted to stand in that room. Looking to check out some of Mitchell’s new work—the show premiered portraits of Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi, amongst others—or perhaps snag some limited-edition prints of the artist's work, fans formed a line two blocks long. “I think that line got started a couple days ago,” Garza says. As you can see in the video above, it was worth the wait.
