Los Angeles may be the land of the car, but Silicon Valley's efforts to rejigger the auto industry with ridesharing, electric motors, and autonomous cars are starting to infiltrate Southern California.
This year, that change in focus even killed the long-running Los Angeles Auto Show press days, when journalists get a preview of what's coming to the show floor: That gathering now calls itself as "Automobility LA."
Despite the rebranding and speakers from Intel, venture capital firms, and even Hyperloop One, there is still plenty of metal to ogle on the show floor, which is open to the public until November 27.
Alfa Romeo and Jaguar showed off all-new, luxury SUVs. Porsche and Mazda brought race cars. Aston Martin added a lot of oomph to the Vanquish, Chrysler made the minivan cool and electric. And McLaren announced it is reviving the spirit of the glorious F1 with something it is calling the BP23.
If you can't make this year's show, or want to know what to look for, ride through the gallery above to see the latest and greatest the auto industry has to offer.
