It's only a minute long, half as long as the full trailer, but this new teaser for Duncan Jones' adaptation of Blizzard's hugely popular MMORPG looks a lot better than that last tease. The CGI looks more complete, the orcs are cleaner and more realized (so are the humans, oddly), and the battles seem a lot more epic.
It starts with the Azeroth version of an old-west showdown between a knight of the Alliance and an orc of the Horde. And then there's a furious montage of battle sequences that would feel right at home in a Lord of the Rings film. There's a better glimpse of Paula Patton's Garona Halforcen, a half-human, half-orc caught between armies, and a hint at some of the magic that will surely come into play during the war. There may not be as much for fans of the game series to pick apart as the first full trailer, but this TV spot should restore a bit more faith for the skeptics.
Pause at: It's so short, there's not a lot to latch on to, but that clash at 0:44 is pretty stirring.
