If early ticket sales are any indication, you probably already have your passes for Star Wars: The Force Awakens' opening weekend. (If you don't, go get them now. We'll wait.) And for those of you who got tickets to see it in IMAX, we have good news: J.J. Abrams is very happy with your life choices.

"I'm a huge fan of what IMAX is about," Abrams says. "You feel it. And it ends up being that much more fun to watch. For fans of Star Wars they’ll get to experience a sequence in a way they haven't before."

One of those sequences is the scene we’ve seen in the trailers of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) running through Jakku dodging TIE fighter fire. And in the behind-the-scenes video here, we get to see how Abrams shot it using IMAX’s massive cameras. "I remember asking our [director of photography] how it works, because obviously IMAX is a bigger thing," Ridley says. "It's cool shooting with IMAX cameras."
