Hello, and welcome to the write up about another episode of The Monitor. This week, the theme is: Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? No, it’s not based on the Cranberries’ seminal rock album, it’s based on the idea that everyone else is working on their Best of 2015 lists, so we might as well get in on the fun.
But instead of just listing off things we like—that’s rather boring on a podcast—we are instead offering up our Winners of 2015. Sometimes they’re people, like Kendrick Lamar. Sometimes they’re movements, like the rise of virtual reality filmmaking. And sometimes they’re just things we love, like Mad Max: Fury Road and the musical Hamilton.
Who/what else will be named Winners of the WIRED Entertainment World? You’ll have to listen to find out. We’ve got editors and contributors Peter Rubin, K.M. McFarland, Angela Watercutter, and Charley Locke in the booth and they’re ready to hand out trophies. Stick around to find out who is going home with the hardware.
