Quentin Tarantino has been in the news a lot the last few days. Police unions are calling for a boycott of his films, including his new movie The Hateful Eight, after remarks the director made at a rally against police brutality last month. ("I'm a human being with a conscience," Tarantino said. "If you believe there’s murder going on then you need to rise up and stand up against it. I’m here to say I’m on the side of the murdered.") Well, if you would like to see what's in store in one of the movies being boycotted, the latest trailer is above. And, dust-ups aside, it looks gorgeous. The director shot the Western in 65mm using lenses dug up from the Panavision archives, and the expanse and detail they were able to capture is apparent even in this YouTube clip promoting the film. (You'll be able to see the film in Ultra Panavision 70mm thanks to roadshow screenings hitting various American cities starting Dec. 25.) Tarantino pulled together his best A-listers for this one—Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, and so on—so, as the trailer says, expect to spend this holiday season "with someone you hate" (or, more likely, love).
