Hurricane Joaquin is on its way out to the Atlantic Ocean, but the aftermath of the storm can be seen up and down the coast of the US, the Bahamas and Bermuda. South Carolina experienced record rainfall over the weekend, leaving some 30,000 without power, and Bermuda was battered with winds over 50 mph on Sunday.
The devastation can be seen everywhere, and locals waded (and paddled) out into the water to capture the flooding and downpours. Many posted their photos on Instagram, which have been picked up by news outlets around the country. The photos documented the storm as it passed by, and now capture the flooded neighborhoods and damaged roads as a slow recovery happens. With waters levels still high in South Carolina and rescue efforts in full swing, the effects of the hurricane are far from over.
