At this morning's Oculus Connect keynote address at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe kicked things off not with a speech, but with a special guest: Mark Zuckerberg. The Facebook CEO jumped right into the promise of what he calls "the next platform."

"There's always a richer, more immersive medium to experience the world," he said. "And after video, the next logical step is fully immerseive virtual reality." He didn't furnish details beyond that, but his commitment to the technology is clear. Next step: your mother dropping 360-degree videos as comments on your friends' photos.
