Maybe it’s just the heat of the dog days of summer finally setting in, but things are getting a little agitated on the Monitor podcast this week. (Apologies in advance.)
First off, we do not have friendly things to say about We Are Your Friends. It’s not that the Zac Efron EDM flick is the worst movie ever, it just fell flat—with critics and at the box office. And you know who else didn’t have nice things to say? Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus. Those two had a little tiff at the MTV Video Music Awards and we get into that on this week’s episode as well.
It’s not all negative, though. This week we’re also sharing our fond memories of Wes Craven and handing out kudos to the Weeknd, Demi Lovato, and HBO’s Show Me a Hero. We’ve got editors and contributors Jordan Crucchiola, Peter Rubin, K.M. McFarland, and senior associate editor Angela Watercutter in the booth this week and while we might be mean, we’re always fair.
