The last three Toy Story films have been nothing if not emotional roller coasters. But whereas those movies have mostly been about the struggles of friendship, growing up, and moving on, the next installment will have a whole new emotional journey: romance.
Kicking off this week's D23 Expo, Disney's chief creative officer John Lasseter told CNBC Toy Story 4 is "a love story with Woody and—and this is news—Bo Peep." Get ready, world, your hearts are about to grow, like, 10 sizes.
Lasseter, who directed the first two Toy Story movies and who will direct the fourth installment, didn't give any other details. But he did promise lots of surprises during the Pixar/Walt Disney Animation Studios presentation happening later today, including details on The Good Dinosaur, Finding Dory, and Zootopia. (We'll be there, so stay tuned for updates.)
Toy Story 4 is scheduled to hit theaters June 16, 2017.
