We're switching it up a little in the Audio Visuals roundup this week. Normally, we limit the entries to videos that have come out in the past week. There are a few days of wiggle room, but if it's been more than two weeks since the video dropped, we save it for the honorable mentions list. But this time around we stumbled upon so many beautiful videos outside of our standard timeframe it felt like cheating our dear readers to not include them. So here is your special edition music video hot list with special bonus tracks from the archives of the Internet. We promise they will be worth breaking the rules for.
Kendrick Lamar just made an awesome music video for an interlude track. Who is this guy?!
The bros of Bro are shredding away in a dark and dusty room when suddenly they get sucked into their old-school videogame cabinet! The two naked heroes have no choice but to fight their way back to rock and roll freedom.
Despite the fact that this is a fun little pop number, Twinsmith has crafted some genuinely creepy scenes to accompany its homage to cabin-in-the-woods-style horror. Nicely done, Twinsmith!
Well this is unsettling.
What a fantastic animation! A fallen angel lands in hell and brings the viewer into something resembling Dante's Inferno. Dive in with him and see.
Damn. Have you ever felt so emotionally invested in a baton twirler’s pursuit of triumph? We haven't, but this uplifting video has us considering all new forms of under utilized storylines in sports movies.
Jack Parow is sporting the accent made famous by his freak-show fellow countrymen, Die Antwoord, but—at least in this outing—isn’t nearly as scary. Considering the absence of a dominant summer jam in 2015, we're ready to embrace "Never Gonna Grow Up" as a dark horse contender for the spot. Parow's video is filled with all the breezy fun of his lyrics as he parades around a pack of marauding children. Chug soda till you pass out!
The rock star lip sync performance you always dreamed you could have thrown down in second grade but never did. This one is for the dreamers.
This is another one of those WTF clips where you feel skeptical about the claims being made video, but really have no reason to doubt them. A title card tells us that all of the dance moves in this video were performed under hypnosis, which is an amazing thought, but also like whaaaaaaat?! These guys have some sweet moves in their subconscious.
The "Awake" video endeavored to visualize the state of being caught between dreams and reality. It kind of worked.
The simple, precise choreography in this video gets two thumbs way up.
It's like an anemone visualizer!
