Hard to believe it, but if you're in the Northern Hemisphere, tomorrow's the longest day of the year. And the summer solstice falling on a weekend can only mean good things for all those cookouts, picnics, and assorted other lazy summer afternoon activities; that's where we come in. Things are decidedly downtempo this week, but that doesn't mean they're dour—just relaxed. From acoustic loveliness (courtesy of Mali Music, whose album dropped this week) to soulful musings (courtesy of Jessie Ware and King avriel) to playful new-Harlem braggadocio (Fergenstein back!), dial it back a notch and take it easy.
As usual, we've added the tracks to our ongoing Spotify playlist of great new music, and created a standalone YouTube playlist for this week. Keep the recommendations coming.
