Ask not for whom the genre bell tolls; it tolls for virtually every sound under the sun. This week, there's music from Fela Kuti's youngest son Seun (who took over leading his father's Egypt 80 band after his death), a Riff-Raff remix that comes weirdly close to capturing the laidback lightning in a bottle of Slim Thug's "Still Tippin'" Remix, and solo chanteuses galore—Sharon Van Etten, Lana Del Rey, and Meshell Ndegeocello. And if you want something a little more...well, a little more insanely long, there's a glorious new 14-minute opus from Cascadian black-metal standouts Wolves in the Throne Room.
As usual, we've added the tracks to our ongoing Spotify playlist of great new music, and created a standalone YouTube playlist for this week. Keep the recommendations coming.
