Full Trailer for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar Is Otherworldly Good

The first full trailer for director Christopher Nolan's new film Interstellar is finally here. And it looks magnificent.

Look, everyone got a little upset when Christopher Nolan moved away from directing Batman films and onto other interests. But now that there's a full trailer for Interstellar—the movie he's been working on under cloak and dagger for more than a year—all is forgiven.

Why? Because this movie looks out-of-this-world amazing. The new trailer for the film, which will be showing before Godzilla screenings this weekend, finally throws open the doors on what, exactly, Nolan's new film is about. The gist: A global food crisis has left Earth in a dire situation, and Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a pilot and engineer who turned to farming to feed his family, has been called on to go on an expedition to find a new place for humanity to live. Or, as Michael Caine's character tells him: "We're not meant to save the world, we're meant to leave it."

From the gritty desolation of the life envisioned on this near-future Earth to the majestic grandeur shown in the few fleeting space-exploration shots here, it looks like Nolan is putting together an epic space-exploration film. Welcome back, Christopher. We were missing you already.

Interstellar hits theaters in November.
