When we first started toying with the idea of crowdsourcing a weekly playlist, we assumed it would just be collections of tracks taken from new albums each week. NOT SO. With the music industry (and the internet) being the way it is, every week has become a revelation of sorts; artists are constantly releasing new material, from singles to unfinished work to previews to videos. It's a bonanza, people. This week especially embodies that: Lykke Li just released a new video, How to Dress Well stealth-dropped his first new song in more than a year, there's a new Pharrell album, tUnE-yArDs gave us a megamix-style teaser of her upcoming May album, and artists like Lupe Fiasco and Big KRIT took to SoundCloud to show off brand-new creations.
As usual, we’ve added the tracks to our ongoing Spotify playlist of great new music, as well as creating a standalone YouTube playlist for this week. Keep the recommendations coming.
