Matt Smith and Steven Moffat Talk The End of Doctor Who's Eleventh Era

The outgoing Time Lord and current showrunner talk about Matt Smith's final episode of Doctor Who in this clip from the Time of the Doctor Blu-ray release.

This week sees the DVD/Blu-ray release of Doctor Who: The Time of the Doctor, the final episode of Matt Smith’s reign as television’s favorite Time Lord. To commemorate his run as the eleventh(ish) Doctor, we have a clip from one of the special features on the DVD edition, which was released this week.

In addition to the 2013 Christmas Special that said goodbye to Matt Smith (and hello to new Doctor Peter Capaldi), the home release for The Time of the Doctor also includes a behind-the-scenes featurette, as well as a tribute to Smith’s time on the show and a documentary about the series’ history that originally aired as part of the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

In this WIRED-exclusive clip, Smith and Who showrunner Steven Moffat talk about filming their final episode together. “It feels like the end of an era,” Moffat says. “And I don’t just mean the fictional era of the show, I mean the real life, human era.”

Doctor Who: The Time of the Doctor is available now.
