Your family is great. Their Facebook posts about the cat's latest antics are always entertaining. Now if only they'd only stop posting ridiculous falsehoods from fringe political sites.
For many, Facebook is the preferred place to post 9/11 truther garbage, links to sites that end each headline with "and you'll never believe what happened next," and quiz results about which character they are from Girls. If you're tired of any of these types of posts from a certain site or Facebook page, there's an easy way to stop them from appearing in your feed.
The next time an offending post from the offending site appears, click on the downward-pointing arrow in the top right corner of the post. Next, click on "Hide" from the drop-down menu. You'll be asked if you want to hide posts from your friend or the site. Click on "Hide all posts from X," (X being the name of the site you want to block). That's it. The posts from that site will no longer appear in your feed.
Of course you'll never find out if your cousin is a Lannister or Stark from Game of Thrones. But your Facebook feed will feature less noise and weird stories about political officials being aliens.
