Those who saw the four-minute Super Bowl trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 — which came in No. 2 on our reader’s poll, by the way — know that it was crammed with suspense, intrigue, and action. And a lot of Jamie Foxx’s Electro story. The new full-length trailer, which hit the web today and is currently playing before some screenings of The Lego Movie, uses a lot of the same footage as that one, but mixes it up into a much more fast-paced cut. Peter Parker’s witticisms with Aunt May (Sally Field) are all here (Andrew Garfield really nails that “laundry sheriff” line), but much of Electro’s backstory is out. However, there’s still a good portion of Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborn. There’s also a new snippet of Spidey attaching Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) to a car so she can’t follow him into danger, which is actually pretty cute. Check it out above.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2.
