Over the next several days, The Extremo Files will offer brief video postcards from North Korea, the eccentric, hermetic nation that remains a fixture in global headlines. All foreigner-oriented tours display a carefully managed, intentionally curated side of the country; with no opportunity for cross-examination, such visits don't facilitate a journalistic treatment of life in North Korea. With this in mind, no attempt is made to read the tea leaves or separate truth from stagecraft; I merely offer the view from behind the iPhone, and the interpretation is up to you.
