Subaru does wagons. Well. Really well. So well in fact that they've taken the awesome, rear-wheel-drive BRZ and fitted it with a hatchback. We want it. Like, tomorrow.

Subaru let this overflowing bowl of awesome speak for itself, issuing a press release that reads, in its entirety:

SUBARU CROSS SPORT DESIGN CONCEPT is a combination of 'sport' and 'utility' – both aspects which have been refined by Subaru over the years.

This model has a compact body with overall length of 4,300 mm that allows brisk driving and yet makes available features such as easy seat access, comfortable interior, and abundant luggage space. SUBARU CROSS SPORT DESIGN CONCEPT is what Subaru perceives to be the next trend in urban SUVs.

That's all we get. But this is what we hear. The Cross Sport is packing the same boxer engine as its two-door counterpart (sweet), but it's mated to a CVT (suck). The hatchback breaks in two – like an old school SUV – making it perfect for hauling a couple dogs or an extra set of tires for a track day. At 4,300 mm, it's only a few inches longer than the standard BRZ, and it rides slightly higher for some extra ground clearance.

It's like a poor-mans Ferrari FF or the Japanese equivalent of the BMW M Coupe. Slap a turbo on that flat four, put this thing into production, and we'll be storming the dealership.
