Most blog-posts are made with a happy face - and this one is no different. Maybe a little happier than usual.
It has been a very hectic week with a lot of "usual" space stuff but with a main focus on getting our hands on the 750 sqm (app 8000 sq.feet) facility placed across the street from HAB - while it was still available.
Basically I had to come up with all the finances during a couple of days and I managed to do so. I am not sure about the mechanisms in place here - but there seem to be magic in the air and a lot of people supporting our work. Our decisions to expand, buy new machinery, vessels or just making moves seems to be "approved" and donations are coming in.
Its a fine balance and we are very aware of not to ask too much and having good reasons and justification to make these moves.
Friday it happened. Peter arrived, after a week on vacation, and we went to the main office of the space-island. Here we signed the papers and got the keys. The new Copenhagen Suborbitals giant facility is now officially opened and we will immediately begin fixing interior lighting, water and machinery. Soon after, we will move the main projects to this place and keep the old place for large structures like ship-hulls and service towers.
The price for the keys and papers was approximately $35,000 dollars including December rent, 3 months deposit and interior fitting from the previous owner. 10,000 dollars was already accounted for Monday and during my search Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the rest was identified and for that we are for ever grateful. The use of phone calls, social media like facebook, twitter and blogs seemed to do the trick.

This facility is the dawn of a new era at Copenhagen Suborbitals. Now, we are actually capable of having enough room for all our work and hopefully provide you all with more exciting adventures and results.
There will be some sort of an open-house event for all, likely on the other side of December - but no dates has been decided yet. Also, I hope to have a special surprise for you all during that event. Nuff said :)
At some point Peter and I will decide what to name the new facility. We like coming up with these names and acronyms. We already have a fleet celebrating Russian space flight - capsules celebrating Danish astronomers. So, whats next? Maybe you have an idea or suggestion - a little inspiration is always nice.
