Aubrey Plaza brings a great many things to her particular brand of comedy – sarcasm, irony, dryness – and in her first leading role she brought something else: sexiness. Though, in typical Plaza fashion, it's more droll than hot.
"I think it's sexy, in a really unsexy way," Plaza tells WIRED of her turn in The To Do List.
In the flick, out today on DVD and Blu-ray, Plaza (Parks and Recreation) plays a valedictorian virgin named Brandy Klark who compiles a summer, yes, "to do" list that consist entirely of sexual acts – committing her ambitious nature to more carnal pursuits than academic ones. Naturally, this means that Plaza's awkward wiles are put to good use in writer/director Maggie Carey's first feature. "I do pride myself, they are some of the most unsexy sex scenes ever directed," Carey jokes in the video above. "So I nailed that one."
Check out more from Plaza, Carey, and co-star Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) in the video above.
