That Audi A3 etron is a perfectly nice hatchback. It's the automaker's first plug-in hybrid, with an electrically-powered range of 31 miles from its 8.8 kWh battery before the miserly 150-hp engine kicks in. But that's not why it's cool.
Audi has done what every other automaker has failed at: It's figured out the right place to put the charge port.
Slide the four ring logo on the grille to the left and, lo and behold, that's where you plug it in. Not only is that an incredibly trick design, it finally solves the problem of how to park at a charging station -- the same problem Ford and GM solved decades ago by hiding the fuel filler behind the license plate.
