San Diego Comic-Con marked the debut of the WIRED Mech, and it couldn't have gone better. Comic-Con attendees lined the streets to get a look at the 9.5-foot-tall mech that both looked and sounded like it weighed a few tons. The aluminum and urethane beast worked perfectly, thanks to the efforts by the pros at Legacy Effects and the Stan Winston School.
In this installment of the making of the mech, the WIRED Mech receives a few finishing touches and walks down a San Diego street, to the delight of geeks and nerds alike.
