It's possible that Independence Day and the entire 4th of July holiday is something that's just a little bit too optimistic and patriotic for you. Perhaps you're someone who'd rather have a chaser of societal breakdown and undead apocalypse to accompany your fireworks and hot dogs? If so, then AMC has just the thing for you: A Walking Dead uber-marathon.
Starting tomorrow, AMC will be re-running the entire run of The Walking Dead to date, with marathon screenings of a season a day across the entire weekend: Thursday sees the complete first season run twice, both its original version and the special black-and-white editions, with the second season running across Friday and the third season being shown on both Saturday and Sunday.
Interspersed with the re-runs will be all-new behind the scenes footage from upcoming episodes of the show, with Kevin Smith interviewing cast and crew on the Atlanta set as they shoot the fourth season of the show, undoubtedly offering teases and fueling speculation of what's to come ahead of the cast and crew's appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month.
Sure, there are more social ways to spend your holiday weekend, but will spending time with family and friends really demonstrate why allying yourself with psychotic prison governors isn't the best idea in case of emergency?
AMC's The Walking Dead Season 4 Preview Weekend starts Thursday at 1pm Eastern, and at the same time Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
