The Recon Jet Pilot edition will be available for pre-order from now until the end of the Tour de France (July 21) -- geared toward cyclists and triathletes, the glasses will ship with software designed to connect to the various wireless sensors available for bicycles. So if your resting heart rate is about 50 beats per minute, you might want to check these out.

The Recon Jet Pilot edition will work with both iOS and Android. It syncs with smartphones via Bluetooth and supports ANT+ so all your fancy data-tracking sports equipment will push your workout information to the headset. The glasses are also modular, so if you break the frame or lenses you can order replacements from Recon. Something you can't do with Google Glass.

In addition to displaying and tracking your heart rate, cadence, power output, speed, pace, distance and other data, the headset will display caller-ID and text messages from a synced smartphone. As an added bonus for early adopters, the Jet Pilot edition will be available for $500 -- that's $100 less than the final production run model, which is expected to ship by the end of 2013 for $600. You could use that extra money for a pair of nice cycling socks.
