Ariane played single mom last weekend while her husband went away on a snowboarding trip. She and her two-year-old daughter packed their girls' weekend with fun new experiences: a trip to an ostrich farm and a miniature horse ranch! Seeing the very large birds and the very small horses all in one day sure gave a new, if not comical, perspective on the animal kingdom.

After months of pondering and then actual writing, Kris Bordessa has finally published a new ebook. In Off the Shelf: Homemade alternatives to the condiments, toppings, and snacks you love she shares a collection of recipes that takes your favorite condiments and pantry staples off the grocery store shelves and puts them right in your (very capable) hands. And if making homemade mayonnaise isn't a science experience worthy of a geek family, she doesn't know what is.

Kelly Knox has been looking forward to this weekend for a year – it's the return of the Emerald City ComicCon! She's planning to get her Captain Marvel book signed, and hopes that she won't chicken out when it's time to say hi to her favorite comic book scribes, including Kelly Sue DeConnick, Gail Simone, and Brian Wood.

Judy Berna is still floating a bit, from her excellent experience at the Winter X Games. Her children are having fun doing their own snow sports as snow continues to fall in Colorado. She's recently attended a few book promotional events and is excited to reach even more people in the amputee community with resources and encouragement.

Rebecca Angel is happily recording a single for no particular reason other than it's fun. While the music part of her life continues in the background, she's planning a party for her nephew, in-laws are in town, and will be attending her son's classical choir concert all this weekend.

Patricia's trip to Disney World for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend was fantastic. She will be writing a post about her husband and sons' involvement in the weekend, but to sum up: her boys were able to see her four times while on the race course (including once from the monorail, thanks to Apple's "Find My Friends" app), and she couldn't be more proud of her sons crushing the Royal Family 5K (look for them dressed as The Incredibles in the video at 4:12 on the right), especially her eight-year-old who ran it in 40 minutes without complaint! They also visited Sea World and enjoyed Disney's newest resort, the Art of Animation.
