In an apparent attempt to get the hysteria over the upcoming Season 3 premiere of Game of Thrones to hit fever pitch – as if it hadn't already – a series of new clips of the HBO show have surfaced and ... wow. Just, wow. Guys, this season is going to be nuts.
(Spoiler alert: Minor plot points are revealed in the text and videos. Obviously.)
First, there's the newest trailer (above), which – like the trailers before it – is a lot of speedy cuts of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) wielding dragons and promising "no mercy," Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) being generally distraught at his sister Cersei's (Lena Headey) constant plotting against her "enemies," and snowy scenes beyond the Wall. However, what's this? Is that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) promising Ygritte that if the wildlings attack the Wall they'll all die? Presumably yes, but it's hard to tell with all the creative editing in between.
Next is an oddly sweet encounter on the long road to King's Landing between Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his vigilant escort Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie). Jaime remarks that she was not really Renly Baratheon's "type" because she was "far too much man for him." (Damn, dude.) But then when Jaime goes so far as to make an insulting remark about Renly's sexual proclivities, Brienne pulls him back by the hair so fast he nearly hits his knees. (Brienne: 1, Jaime: 0) Then Jaime comes correct. "I don't blame him, and I don't blame you, either," he says. "We don't get to choose who we love." (Brienne: 1, Jaime: 1)
Finally, there are two clips that expand on some of the previously seen footage of both Dany and her dragons and Tyrion bickering with Cersei (per usual). A couple of notes here: One, can someone just make a supercut of these siblings snipping at each other? Or perhaps give them their own sibling-rivalry spinoff show? Two, anyone else super-hungry for dragon-seared tuna all of a sudden? Just curious.
Check out all of the clips above. Game of Thrones Season 3 begins in six very long days.
